Shyam Metalics Football Academy Clinches Multiple Titles & Secures 1st Division Spot in DSSA Durgapur League




Kolkata, West Bengal, October 07, 2025: Shyam Metalics Football Academy (SMFA) continues to prove its dominance in grassroots football by clinching multiple prestigious titles in August & September and earning a promotion to the 1st Division of the DSSA Durgapur Football League for the upcoming season.
SMFA defeated Durgapur Hrishi Aurobindo Pally RC in the final of the DSSA Durgapur 2nd Division Football League Championship, qualifying for the 1st Division next year, a milestone achievement that underscores the Academy’s growing strength and consistency.
On 21st September 2025, SMFA was crowned Champions of the Sri Sri Sarada Santan Sangha Memorial Football Tournament at Siuri, Birbhum, after a thrilling 3–0 victory over SBSTC Recreation Club, Durgapur. The team’s stellar performance was further recognized through individual accolades:
Man of the Final: Sachin Bauri
Best Goalkeeper: Rohit Kora
Best Defender: Biswajeet Kisku
Player of the Tournament: Bibek Bauri
At the Bankim Chandra Memorial Gold Cup (Ukhra), SMFA lifted the Championship title on 14th September, defeating Dakshinkhanda Sports Association 1–0. Samir Soren scored the winning goal in the final, with Abhishek Limbu named Man of the Match and Bhima Kumar Pahan honoured as Man of the Tournament. The final was graced by former Indian footballer Dippendu Biswas, adding further prestige to the occasion.
Earlier, on 21st August 2025, SMFA was crowned Champions of the 62nd Sri Sri Satyananda Memorial Shield Football Tournament at Dubrajpur, Birbhum, after a nail biting 1–0 victory over a star studded JISU XI, comprising of top professional footballers and foreigners. Kartik Hansda was adjudged Man of the Final for scoring the winning goal.
This capped a remarkable month where SMFA showcased depth and resilience by competing in multiple tournaments simultaneously and consistently emerging on top.
