Desun Hospital marks World Health Day 2026 with community-centric initiatives across Kolkata & Siliguri




Kolkata, April 8, 2026 : On the occasion of World Health Day 2026, Desun Hospital organized a series of impactful health awareness and community outreach initiatives across Kolkata and Siliguri, reinforcing its commitment to preventive healthcare and public well-being.
In Siliguri, the day began with an enthusiastic walkathon from Venus More to Air View More, encouraging citizens to embrace active lifestyles and prioritize fitness. During the course of the walkathon, Desun medical team also demonstrated and trained people in Basic Life Support, using a mannequin. This was followed by a mega health camp, where residents availed free health check-ups, consultations, and basic screenings conducted by Desun’s medical team. The initiative witnessed strong community participation, focussing on raising awareness for preventive healthcare.

Meanwhile, in Kolkata, Desun Hospital hosted health camps for morning walkers at two of the city’s most popular fitness hubs, Rabindra Sarobar and Patuli lake. Early risers benefited from on-the-spot health assessments, vital checks, and expert medical advice, promoting the importance of routine health monitoring.
In addition, Desun’s consultants conducted interactive OPD talks across departments, focusing on lifestyle diseases, preventive care, and early diagnosis. These sessions aimed to empower patients and their families with actionable health insights.

Extending its outreach to younger audiences, the hospital also organized engagement activities with school students, introducing them to the fundamentals of good health, hygiene, nutrition, and active living. The initiative aimed to instil healthy habits early and build a more health-conscious future generation.
