According to the Bengali Panjika , Durga Puja has not officially begun yet, but its festive spirit has already spread among people. People have already prepared lists of which pandels they will visit on which days.
By Mahalaya, idols had already arrived at most puja pandals, and they will reach the remaining ones within a day or two. Final preparations among artisans are now in full swing, with last-minute touches currently underway for the Durga idol at the Sovabazar Paul Bari.
