2 May 2026: Subhransu S Mishra, General Manager, Metro Railway, felicitated 41 Metro sportspersons in recognition of their outstanding achievements in various international and national-level tournaments. The felicitation ceremony was organised by the Metro Railway Sports Association at Metro Rail Bhavan.
Out of these, six sportspersons had the honour of representing India in prestigious international championships in the disciplines of Bridge, Chess, and Table Tennis, thereby bringing laurels to the nation. The achievers are:
• Bridge: Sumit Mukherjee & Sagnik Roy
• Chess: Sayantan Das, Mitrabha Guha & Arpan Das
• Table Tennis: Poymantee Baisya
